Frequently asked questions

1How bookings work
Once you have selected the experience you are interested in and contacted us (email, contact form, WhatsApp) one of our team members will reply to you and answer any questions you might have. Then they will proceed to set up your package: reservation date, experience(s), number of people, arrival point, days of stay, departure point and any special needs you might have. Once the package details are determined, our administration team will contact you to set up the down payment process and the method that best suits you. Ater that, we will stay in touch with you until the day of your arrival, where we will pick you up to start your adventure.
2Preparing for your experience
Depending on your experience and packages, we will recommend a list of items that will be very useful – and sometimes necessary – for any outdoors activities. Patagonia is a very cold and windy region in South America, so appropriate clothing for every season is strongly encouraged to bring. Footwear is very important since we will be traversing rough desertic terrain on every activity. Comfortable outerwear – especially jackets, windbreakers, headgear and gloves are the way to go around these parts. We also recommend bringing eyewear for UV protection. Any type of water bottle or thermos. A comfortable backpack is a plus. You can bring any kind of outerwear and gear you feel comfortable with or you are accustomed to take on your outdoor activities. Please let our team know what else you´re bringing so we can organize the space on the vehicles and housing.
3Provided gear and gadgets
During your Patagonia Experience our team will provide you with a tour guide and interpreter every day. On outdoors activities, you will be given a radio device to stay in touch with our team, as well as access to satellite Internet on vehicles and the Estancias. We also have charging stations and power banks for all your electronic devices, flashlights and coolers/thermos for hot and cold beverages. Medkits are available on every vehicle and location as well. Depending on your selected package, you will also be provided with basic gear for it. Housing includes blankets, covers and towels. Firewood for fireplaces is always available, as well as bathroom and cleaning supplies. Ponchos and related will be available in certain estancias for those who want to feel like a true Patagonian gaucho.
4What is included with every Experience
Every package includes the following: Transportation, tour guide, interpreter, housing, food, beverages and all the necessary items for your stay. It also includes what is mentioned in the previous section of our FAQ. Trips to local towns are included in the respective packages, but shopping is entirely on the tourist´s consideration and budget. Same goes for fees, rentals and tickets to external activities, vehicles, transportation and places not related to the Patagonia Experiences, such as parks, recreations, restaurants, bars, stores and other shopping establishments. Fishing guides are an option for certain packages as well. Our tour guides and interpreters will help you get the most out of every experience and avoid any overpricing or unnecessary expenses. Please feel free to ask them for help or any questions you might have during your trip. They are here to help.
5Modifying or upgrading your Experience
You can add certain items to your booked experience at any time, as long as they are available for the time and date. Some activities do not depend on Tierra Salvaje´s staff, but they can be organized if the conditions are optimal. Ask your designated tour guide for information, tips and ideas on how to expand your adventure.
